How To Make The Perfect Air Fryer Steak

We know grilling steaks isn’t always an option, that’s why we have become obsessed with the trend and ease of air fryers. Right behind our grill, our air fryer is probably our most used and most loved cooking method.

Can You Cook A Steak In An Air Fryer?

Yes, you can cook a steak in an air fryer and it’s probably easier (and tastier) than you think.

Here’s A Simple Air Fryer Steak Recipe

Set your air fryer to 400 degrees, and place your seasoned steak in the middle of the air fryer basket. You can season it however you want, or use steak marinades, but for air fryer steaks, we recommend a simple butter and herb seasoning or just your favorite steak seasoning. You can coat the steak on each side in butter or olive oil, but it’s not necessary when using an air fryer.

We recommend flipping the steak halfway through, but one of the beautiful things about using an air fryer, is that flipping the steak isn’t necessary thanks to the way the air fryer cooks. There are a lot of little things you can do to add flavor or make cooking easier, so we love playing around with our air fryer. Air fryers are pretty much foolproof, which kind of explains why it’s one of our favorite things in the entire kitchen right now.

The thickness of the steak will determine how long you need to cook it for, but if you’re using a thick ribeye, cooking it about 8-10 minutes should be a good medium rare temperature. Thinner cuts of steak will take less time, and thicker cuts will obviously take more, but it’s pretty easy to get the hang of.

It’s pretty easy, right? We recommend cutting into your steak pending your temperature preference or using a meat thermometer until you get the hang of making a steak in the air fryer.

Air fryer steaks give a perfectly seared and almost crispy outside edge, with a tender inside. It’s the easiest and most delicious steak, especially when you use Good Ranchers USDA steak cuts.

Two Extra Tips For Cooking Steaks In An Air Fryer

Be sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket. It’s best if the steaks don’t touch, so you can move them around easier. And as always with cooking any meat, we recommend letting the steak rest for about five minutes to let the juices redistribute. Remove the steak from the air fryer and let it rest on a cutting board for about five minutes before serving.

Our meat delivery boxes come with frozen and individually wrapped cuts of meat, making it easy to pull out one or two steaks on any given week night for an easy and delicious dinner. You can even cook a steak in the air fryer straight from the freezer, but that will take a bit longer. Allowing your steak to rest at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes is our favorite way to cook steaks whether on the grill or air fryer.
