Skillet Cheeseburger & Rice

Ingredients

  • 6 slices Good Ranchers Bacon
  • 1 lb Good Ranchers Ground Beef
  • ½ medium White Onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 4 tbsp Ketchup  
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 14.5 oz can Beef Broth
  • ¼ cup Water
  • 1 cup Rice
  • 3 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp Yellow Mustard
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • Optional Toppings: Chopped Dill Pickles, Lettuce, and Tomatoes

 

Instructions

1.  In a large skillet on medium high heat cook bacon until very crisp.  Set aside and chop to use to finish the recipe.

2. In the skillet, brown meat and onions, stirring often until meat is cooked through and onions are soft.

3. Season the meat mixture with salt, pepper, garlic powder, 3 tbsp. ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.

4. Add broth, scrapping the bottom of the pan and bring to a boil.

5. Stir in rice, cover, and reduce heat to medium low.  Simmer covered until the rice is cooked (about 20 minutes).

6. Add ¼ cup water if the broth is absorbed before the rice is tender.

7. Once the rice is cooked, mix half of the cheese into the dish and sprinkle the other ½ over the top.

8. Turn the heat off and cover to let cheese melt.

9. While waiting, make the burger sauce by mixing 1 tbsp ketchup, 3 tbsp mayonnaise, and 2 tsp yellow mustard together. Season with salt & pepper.

10. Finish the skillet by topping with burger sauce, chopped pickles, lettuce, tomato, & chopped bacon.
