Beef Ingredients:
- 2-3 lbs @goodranchers American Wagyu Ground Beef
- 6-8 slices American Cheese
- 1.5 tbsp Kosher Salt
- 1.5 tbsp Black Pepper
- 1.5 tbsp Garlic Powder
- @goodranchers Bacon
Sauce Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp Ketchup
- 2 tbsp Mustard
- 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 1.5 tsp Hot Sauce
Onion Ingredients:
- 1 White Onion (large), thinly sliced
- 1.5 tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1.5 tbsp Unsalted Butter
- 2 oz Bourbon
Instructions:
- 1. Begin by shaping ground beef into small squares, approximately ⅓ to 1/4 lb each. Meanwhile, prepare a flavorful sauce by combining various ingredients in a separate bowl. Chill the sauce in the refrigerator until ready for use.
- 2. In the warmed skillet, melt a portion of butter and then add thinly sliced white onions. Sauté the onions over medium heat for approximately 10 minutes until they start to brown. Add brown sugar and a touch of bourbon (with caution) to the skillet. Allow the onions to simmer for an additional few minutes until they become beautifully softened. Remove the skillet from heat and let the onions cool.
- 3. Now, it’s time to cook the burgers. Place the same cast iron skillet or a fresh one on the grill. Cook the patties for about 2 minutes on the first side, or until they develop a caramelized crust. Flip the patties and gently break up the meat with your spatula to increase the surface area. Cook for another 2 minutes, then flip the patties again. Top each patty with the sautéed onions, followed by a slice of cheese.
- 4. Assemble your delectable patty melt by spreading a spoonful of the prepared sauce on the bottom piece of toast. Place 1-2 patties on top, followed by another dollop of sauce on the second piece of toast. Bring the two halves together and serve this delightful creation. Indulge in the flavorful goodness and relish the moment!
