3 Side Dish Recipes For Steak Night
1. Steamed Asparagus

Asparagus is always a great side for steak night and you only need five ingredients for this easy recipe.

1 lb. asparagus, trim the ends

2 tbsp. melted butter

Freshly ground black pepper

Kosher salt

Optional: Lemon wedges, for serving

  1. Add asparagus to a large skillet over medium heat. Add barely enough water to cover the bottom of the pan, and cover. Let pan steam approximately 3-4 minutes, until asparagus is easily pierced with a knife
  2. In a large bowl, toss asparagus with butter and season with salt and pepper. Serve with lemon wedges.
2. Garlic Butter Potatoes

1 1/2 lb. new or small potatoes

1/4 c. butter, melted

1/4 c. extra-virgin olive oil

3 garlic cloves, minced

kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper

1 c. shredded mozzarella

1/2 c. Parmesan

1/4 c. finely chopped parsley

  1. Preheat oven to 375° and line a large sheet pan or baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make small, diagonal, slits in each potato, like an accordion (don’t cut all the way through), then place potatoes sheet pan.
  3. Whisk melted butter, olive oil and garlic in a small bowl. Brush or pour half of the mixture over potatoes, and season with salt and pepper. Bake for 20 minutes (you’ll notice the slits start to separate and potatoes turn golden).
  4. Brush the potatoes with more melted butter mixture then sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan on top of potatoes and bake for another 22 to 25 minutes, or until potatoes are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
  5. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
3. Macaroni and Cheese with Bacon

This recipe might almost be better than steak night itself.

  1. Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat, until browned and crisp.

  8. Gradually add the milk, salt and pepper until thickened.
  9. Pour half of remaining shredded cheese into saucepan and continue cooking and stirring until cheese melts.
  10. Combine macaroni with cheese sauce in a bowl or pour over.
  11. Crumble bacon over the top of the dish, followed by the remaining shredded cheese.
